Monthly Meeting at IndigiScapes - 7:30pm

Guest Speaker: Robert Ashdown

Pics from the West

Photographer Robert Ashdown will show us some of his recent photos from trips that formed part of his work with Queensland Parks and Wildlife, as well as images taken in and around his home town of Toowoomba.

The digital world has changed everything from music to photography, however having still not picked up a digital SLR camera, and unable to afford slide film processing these days, Rob has been mucking about pushing compact digital cameras to their limits.

Rob will talk about the fun he’s had, as well as some of the techniques he’s used in wringing satisfying images out of these little marvels of technology.

His photos will cover recent searches for elusive yakka skinks, tiger leeches at Sundown, trips to the central sandstone highlands, and adventures with a camera and a kid in the backyard.

Bring any questions you have about how to work your compact (or digital) SLR.
