Tree of LifeThis section of the WPSQ Bayside web site presents a taxonomic view of the world's flora and fauna. Starting at the top of the tree, you can drill down to the particular group of plants and animals that you are interested in. The aim is to make the tree reasonably complete down to the Order or Family levels, with wildlife in Australia being added to the Species level, with particular emphasis on vulnerable and endangered species. Be aware that some of the groups are incomplete. There are often differing views in the scientific community about how some organisms should be categorised. What is presented here is just one of the possible views. Another way in is to find the common name of the group of plants or animals you are interested in. Because the natural world is more than simply a collection of individual species, it is important to understand the world's ecosystems, and they way the species within them interact. Choose a bayside ecosystem, and explore the relationships between the species found there. References are included.
